Meeting point : Cowan Train Station

HIKEFit will meet at Cowan Train Station. As we will be walking to Brooklyn then catching a train back to our cars, think about training all the way , alternatively think about car pooling, I can help with coordinating that. Please bring your OPAL card as we have a 10min train journey from Brooklyn to Cowan!
We will start at 6.45am, allowing you time to travel.

Please allow extra time for the 30+min drive each way and the coffee at the Brooklyn.

What should you expect.. we start with a 4km Walk steep descent into Jerusalem Bay . This is a beautiful spot for our first stop. we then have a very steep climb out of the bay before descending once again, this time to Brooklyn. Our scenery for the day will range from foreshore to ridge top lookouts.

13km should take us 4 hours, but time will vary based on weather, the number of hikers, and how we cope with the incline out of Jerusalem bay . Please allows time for this hike out of Sydney .

HIKEFit is all about getting you Fit in Nature. We walk fast on the flat and at your own pace up hills. This is a two+ hour exercise program, which is far more enjoyable than hitting the treadmill a the gym. As a qualified fitness trainer and with wilderness first aid certification, my aim is to help you get fit, be happy and healthy in nature.

It is essential you wear appropriate Walking Gear with stable hiking shoes, sunhat, sunblock, and bring plenty of water (min 2Litres) and food for two snack breaks. I encourage members to have breakfast beforehand so you body has enough fuel to handle the hike. I have posted a few questions upon registration that I require you to answer to ensure you are able to handle this walk from a Medical viewpoint.
