The Tower Walk, Willoughby
Meeting point: 2 Small Street, Willoughy
We will meet at “The Incinerator” on Small St in Willoughby. After meeting at the cafe we will find a bush track and head to Tunks Park and down to Middle Harbour, it here we find the hidden steps leading to another bush track which overlooks beautiful Cremorne and complete a 3KM loop walk. We then traverse back to the Incinerator and stretch.
Along the way home, if you have the energy, you just might be just want to extend your fitness by walking up a few STEPS to keep your heart rate high (this is optional ofcourse). Alternatively, if you think 8KM is too long, then you can start at a half way point . Enquire for details.
This is great hike for those starting on our HIKEFit program. I call this a level 2 hike, but at 8km and with plenty of steps, you might think differently.
HIKEFit is all about getting you Fit in Nature . We walk fast on the flat and at your own pace up hills. This is a two + hour exercise program, which is far more enjoyable than hitting the treadmill a the gym.
All leaders are qualified fitness trainers and with first aid certifications (Sonia has Wilderness First Aid) . Our aim is to help you get fit, be happy and healthy in nature.
It is essential you wear appropriate Walking Gear with stable shoes, sunhat, sunblock, and bring plenty of water (1.5Litres) and a snack. I encourage members to have breakfast beforehand so you body has enough fuel to handle the hike. I have posted a few questions upon registration that I require you to answer to ensure you are able to handle this walk from a Medical viewpoint.
